100 Things About Me      

1. I've lived in a big city only once in my life.

2. I have two younger brothers who mean the world to me.

3. I am fairly close to my family.

4. I simply love the holiday season.   I collect snowmen and they adorn every single flat surface during the holidays

5. I also have a Hello Kitty Christmas tree. I guess I'm reliving part of my childhood.

6. When I eat Chinese food, I like using chopsticks. There is something so fundamental about  the click-click sound and wet noodles.

7. I almost always wear a watch on my left wrist. I never take off my silver anklet.

8. I wear a silver toe ring. I happen to think that they're sexy.

9. I have some of the best friends a girl could ask for--Mandy, who knows all my secrets; Dianne, who gives me moral support and who lets me feel needed, and Martin, who keeps me from going insane and who keeps me grounded.

10. I'm a Nana's girl.

11. I seriously like my cat, Simon, more than I do many adults.

12. My students think I'm silly, but they seem to learn a lot from me. And most importantly, they know that I love them.

13.  I've been online since 1997. I've met many wonderful people. Only one of them has broken my heart. (Its mended now thank you)

14. I'm a geeky girl, but I'm not sure I'm "geeky" enough.

15. On Spring mornings there is really no greater joy than to walk out into the backyard and see a bunny hop, hop, hopping away into the bushes.

16. I always look for the first cardinal to herald Spring.

17. Winter is my favorite time of year. There is peace and quiet and anticipation.

18. While pink may seem girly, it really is my favorite color. I could wear it almost daily.

19. Oddly enough, my wardrobe consists of mainly red, black, khaki, white, or some variation of those colors.

20. I'm only 4'10". I'm the shortest one in my family. Both of my brothers are 6'.

21. I like to write poetry, but I'm often afraid to share it with others.

22. Cuddling and reading the paper is a perfectly legitimate way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

23. I believe that people only become more beautiful once I love them.

24. There is a place for rules and propriety, but behind closed doors is probably not it.

25. One of my nickames is Delly. Its a long story, but a good, good friendship.

26. I can be wooed with poetry and/or Hello Kitty. If I'm very lucky, you'll ply me with both.

27.  I'm smart. I have the scores to prove it. People are usually sort of shocked to find out how smart I actually am. I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

28. I'm addicted to the show "The Gilmore Girls". I think I'm so much like the character Sookie St. James.

29. I've owned a laptop since 2001. I don't think that I could ever go back to a desktop computer.

30. I hate to vacuum. I'd rather do ANY chore in the house. Any chore!

31. I don't take well to long drawn out surprises. Presents under the Christmas tree are torture. When I was a child, I managed to get most of the opened and re-wrapped before I got caught.

32. I can drink a gallon of water a day as long as it is Fruit2O water. Its got to have flavor.

33. I'm a member of only one professional organization. I'm only a member of PAGE because of the legal protection.

34. I have small feet and I can wear children's shoes. However, I prefer Clarks' shoes from the UK. I wear a pair almost every single day.

35. Right now my new fragrance for fall is by Bath and Body Works. I'm wearing "Warm Vanilla Sugar." It smells like fall and baking and approaching winter.

36.  I love getting email from actual people. I love even more getting handwritten letters.

37. There are five pillows on my bed. I sleep with all of them.

38. My hair was stick-straight until I was 16 years old. My mother made me get an 80s spiral perm. It really was permanent. My hair has been curly ever since.

39.  When I eat M&Ms, I separate them by color. I eat the red ones last. I'm quirky that way.

40. Quirky is one of my favorite words to describe myself. I should probably just use weird ;)

41.  I'm extremely sentimental, a trait I get from Nana. Therefore, I find it hard to throw away anything that even has an ounce of symbolic meaning to me.

42. An example of that is that fact there there is still a gold origami crane sitting on the display of my car. That crane goes everywhere with me.

43. I tend to like routine. Every morning at school, I park in the same spot. I sit in the same seat at breakfast and lunch.

44. I hate going to the grocery store. However, I do not mind going and spending hours at Target.

45. I have been to almost every state in the United States. I haven't ventured to Alaska or Hawaii yet. I hope to do so one day.

46. The two countries I would most like to visit are the UK and Japan. Each for their own unique reasons.

47. I'm most comfortable in a tshirt and shorts. I like pretty clothes, but I just don't want to stay in them for very long.

48. I know more about football than a lot of the guys that I know. They're either intrigued or appalled. I like the ones who are intrigued.

49. My favorite Sesame Street character is Grover. He's way cooler than Elmo.

50. If I had to pick a cartoon character that I'm most like, it would either be Lucy from the Peanuts or Lisa from the Simpsons. I'm probably a mixture of both.

51. I hate, hate, hate being late.

52.  I've been able to maintain friendships with most of my ex-boyfriends. Most--not all.

53.  In a perfect world, I wouldn't have to be at work until around 11AM.

54. During the summer, my night owl tendencies surface. I stay awake most of the night and sleep well past noon.

55.  Wait, actually, in a perfect world, I wouldn't have to work at all. I could travel, read books, and color.

56. I'm a trivia nut. If I don't know the answer to something, ten to one I'll go look it up as soon as I'm able.

57. I have this mental cache of mostly useless trivia, movie and tv quotes, and song lyrics. Obscure references are my forte. I'm such a nerd ;)

58. I'd like to be much neater than I am. Let's face it though--that's not going to happen.

59.  While #26 says that I can be wooed with poetry or Hello Kitty, I should add that a simple handwritten note will do the same. You could consider me wooed then.

60. I like to talk on the phone, but hardly anyone ever calls me. Bah!

61.  While I am loving, I don't like to be smothered. I have to have alone time, or I simply go crazy.

62. My favorite poets are Pablo Neruda, Micheal Melo, and Robert Hass. Mary Oliver, Sylvia Plath, and Adrienne Rich aren't far behind.

63. My Myers-Briggs scores tell me that I'm an ISFJ. I think that, that is pretty close to my true personality type. I do waffle between an E and an I though.

64. I drive a 2000 Dodge Intrepid. Its official color is "slate grey", but in all actuality, its black with a Hello Kitty sticker on the back window.

65. I was born on April 29th.  My birthdate makes me a Taurus and honestly, I fit many of the Taurus cliches.

66. I'd say that I have too many books, but really is there such a thing? I think not.

67.  My favorite type of weather is chilly rain. I don't know why its so, but it just seems to be the perfect book reading weather.

68. The next time I go to a Ren Faire, I'm buying fairy wings. I'm tired of people telling me that I can't be a fairy if I want. Boo on them.

69. I have green eyes which I have been told are very pretty. I like that they're greener depending upon what I wear.

70. My favorite actor is Kenneth Brannaugh and my favorite actress is Helena Bonham-Carter. I've loved her work since she was in "Lady Jane."

71. I have a Hello Kitty/Sanrio shirt for every day of the week. I rock like that.

72. I haven't been convinced yet that I need children to be happy.

73. My favorite foods are: Chinese, peanut butter, pasta, Godiva chocolates, and cheese. I really could do without meat, but I like sushi and BBQ chicken too much.

74.  If I'm wearing fingernail polish, you can pretty much bet that its an OPI color. The names make me laugh--London Bridge is Falling Brown, I'm not really a waitress, Up the Amazon without a Paddle.

75.  While I teach American literature, it really isn't my favorite. I can only think of two or three American authors I really like.

76. I'm a decent cook.

77. I'm fairly content to be boring.

78. I have a tendancy to make pun after terrible pun because they amuse me.

79. Patience with other adults, sadly, is not one of my better qualities.

80. My better qualities include an ability to forgive and a wicked smart sense of humor.

81. Yahoo's emoticons make me laugh.

82. I like salt and vinegar potato chips. They're bitter and tart, but they're so good with an ice cold diet Coke.

83. A good accent on a guy can make me "crazy". It doesn't have to be considered unusual. It just has to be different from what I hear every day.

84. My friends are usually much kinder and loving toward me than I sometimes feel I deserve.

85. I can be a crybaby. I try not to be, but it happens nevertheless.

86. My two favorite books are Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre. I re-read them at least once a year.

87. I like boys who read.

88. While my vocabulary might be considered extensive, I'm a wretched speller. Thank goodness for spell check.

89.  I love to take pictures and I'm rarely without a camera.

90.  My favorite ice cream is Ben and Jerry's Phish Food. A close second is Festivus, and coming in third is Cherry Garcia.

91. I like the smell of clean sheets just from the dryer and I usually sleep on the left side of the bed. However, I can sleep on either side without it bothering me.

92. I'm currently addicted to McDonald's cripspy chicken bacon ranch salads.

93.  My cellphone has five faceplates. All of them are Hello Kitty.

94.  I'm a UGA fan. I've always been a UGA fan. I've watched football for as long as I can remember.

95.  I use Yahoo IM. I like it more than the other messengers.

96. I can work on as little as five hours of sleep, and I'm mostly okay.

97. I can hand code html, but I don't mind using a wysiwyg.

98.  I'm very good at keeping secrets. I have some that I will never ever share. Of course, that's what makes them secrets.

99. I've maintained email contact with a group of women from 1999 until now. We hardly ever fuss or disagree, and I truly love every single one of them.

100.  I have a cute accent. Y'all comes naturally to me. ;)
